Liberty Photo Products Inc., San Clemente, Calif., has acquired the assets of Minilab Supply Store and ProLab Imaging Products. Minilab Supply Store and ProLab Imaging Products, both based in Plymouth, Minn., will continue to be operated as divisions of Liberty with a focus on paper, chemistry, photo imaging equipment, consumables, and spare parts.

"The acquisition will allow us to strengthen our position with independent photo retailers and penetrate new and exciting markets," said Garry Green, president of Liberty Photo Products. "We expect to serve our combined customer base with a greater breadth of products, utilizing the excellent customer service reputation of both organizations."

Liberty was founded in 1984 as a manufacturer of plastic and stainless steel ball bearings, specializing in bearings for the photo finishing industry. Shortly after our beginning, customers requested many types of spare parts, in addition to ball bearings. Effectively, the needs of the industry quickly paved the way for growth into other areas of supply including a full range of equipment replacement parts, production supplies, innovative equipment, wide format and desktop inkjet media, inks, software, and an exciting array of retail imaging products. After more than twenty years of servicing the industry, Liberty's product range has evolved from ball bearings to over 5000 different products catering to the retail minilab, wholesale lab, school photo finisher, professional lab, motion picture, microfilm, sign shop, and photographer.
